Via Ferreta is an italian word for „iron road“. It is a protected climbing route where a steel cable, fixed into the rock, runs all along the route. It allows people to get to more difficult peaks, which were normally only accessible by experienced mountaineer. You can climb ladders and cross suspension bidges.

The Banff Gondola is a must do during your stay at Banff National Park. It will take you op to Sulphur Mountain, which is 2.292 m high. It has become such a famous place because of its spectacular view over the Town of Banff. Beside the amazing view over the Town of Banff, you’ll also see six Mountain Peaks at once. Unfortunately, the view was not that clear during our stay because of the bush fires and the smoke. If you are visiting Alberta in summer, be sure to check if there are bushfires in the surroundings.

Never heard of Calgary? Well it is a city located in the province of Alberta in Canada. With over 1.2 million people, it is actually the largest city in Alberta. As Calgary is located very closely to the Canadian Rocky Mountains, people chose it often as starting point to visit the Rockies.

Beside being a starting point for further adventures, be sure to plan at least one day in Calgary!

Everything you need to know for you upcoming adventure to…Scotland!

Well, for those of you who don’t know where Scotland is located, it is part of the United Kingdom in Europe. Basically it is famous for its Loch Ness Monster called Nessie, which is a thousand year old legend. But I’ll talk about that later on. However, the „Nessie land“ offers a lot more than just a monster living in a lake in the Highlands. For other people Scotland means Scotch whisky, which is certainly sure. They have wonderful whiskies.

To get to Scotland, we took the plane from Luxembourg with a stopover in London Heathrow with British Airways. It was my first flight with them and I really enjoyed it. Maybe you have direct flies from your starting country but at that time, we hadn’t.

Let’s talk firstly about how we spent our week in Scotland. As to our destinations, we chose Edinburgh (or like the local calls it: Edin-bra) because it is the capital city of Scotland and therefor really worth to discover.

Did you know that you can spot dolphins in the Algarve? As soon as I read about this, I knew that I had to book a dolphin tour. After a few researches, I opt for the company Wild Watch Algarve. They had a really good reputation on the internet and they offer you the possibility to do another dolphin tour when you don’t see any dolphins on your first trip. This is a really good offer because dolphins are wild animals and you can never be sure whether you find dolphins or not.
